Chapter 13

  Lucas stayed with him for two days. He even brought his work to Oliver’s room. He stayed there all the time, as if to guard him.

Jonathan asked him why he did it. He would always answer, it was guilt.

They had taken his kidney, so he had to compensate him somehow.

In fact, they both knew it wasn’t just guilt, but also heartache.

Even though it was impossible for him to feel comfortable here, these days, he felt at peace just sitting here.

On the third night, Oliver woke up.

When he saw him open his eyes, Lucas attentively got up. \"What would you like to eat?\"

Looking at Lucas’s face, he was stunned and merely stared at him stupid.

\"Would you like a drink?\" Lucas reached out and caressed his hand.

Oliver stared at him. So now Lucas was doting on him as though they were newly married. It was as though he was just expected to forget that he had been publicly humiliated, and forced to donate an organ.
