Chapter 20

Chloe blinked her eyes repeatedly as she woke up from sleep. Squinting, she tried to guess the numbers displayed on the digital clock above the nightstand. Then, she looked to the side but didn't find Edward in his bed. So, where did he go this early morning?

For a moment, the blonde woman stretched in her bed, flexing her muscles before deciding to sit up and prepare to get out of bed. Just as she was about to rise, she heard the sound of the bathroom door opening. There was Edward, shirtless, casually passing in front of her. It seemed intentional, as if he was getting back at Chloe for something she did last night.

"You can take a shower now. After that, we'll have breakfast together and then go to my place," Edward said, handing Chloe a bathrobe.

"My place?" Chloe asked.

Edward nodded. "Yes... we're married now, so it's only fitting for you to live with me."

"I thought you lived in an apartment. Aren't single men supposed to prefer living there?" Chloe inquired, her curiosity evid
