Chapter 100: A Father’s Concern

I can feel the sweat on my palms and the way my heart is pounding as I slowly walk behind Grandpa Richard to the balcony of his private living room upstairs.

Damian was hesitant about letting me have this private conversation with him but I assured him I’ll be fine, although now I’m not so sure.

“Sit,” Grandpa Richard says in a curt tone, pointing at the bamboo recliner on the balcony.

“I remember you vividly making me a promise on your knees that you will stay away from Damian but then you turn around and marry him instead?” His voice is cold and I can feel it chill my spine.

My only comfort is that I know Damian will protect me, no matter what.

“I can’t stay away from him, I love him.”

For the first time, I openly admit how I feel about Damian and even if I’m saying it as the only logical thing I can say right now, I really wish I can tell Damian how I truly feel.
