CHAPTER TWENTY
Ethan's POV
I looked in my binoculars. Falcon, my new partner, is already in the lobby of the hotel. He's waiting for my signal before he proceeds to the tenth floor of the building.
"Do we have visuals, Wolf?" He whispered and drank his canned soda.
"Negative. Just stay in there." I replied and focused on the hallway of the tenth floor.
Our backup team was waiting for my signal too. Their van was just outside the hotel.
Our mission is to capture the boss of the third largest drug cartel in the Philippines.
We've got an intelligence report that he will be staying in that hotel after his flight from Mexico.
CHAPTER TWENTY ONE Ethan’s POV “We lost her car, Sir.” Simone, one of Jessica’s bodyguards said. I dropped the call and tried to call my girl but she was declining it. What is it this time, Jessica? “Shit. My body is sore already.” Jacob said and grabbed the bottle of water. "What's wrong?" He asked. "Jessica ran away from his guards again and she's not answering my calls. Shit!" I massaged my nape. "Call her best friend. They are always together." He suggested while removing his combat shoes. "I tried but her phone was off." I said and sat on the
CHAPTER TWENTY TWO Jessica’s POV Marcus van was bigger than mine. It was like a minibus type of van. I actually like it. "Your Mom invited me for dinner this weekend." He said while driving. He told me that his driver was sick so he didn't have a choice but to drive us to Batangas. It will be a three hour drive. I removed my eye mask because of what he said and pulled myself from his comfy air bed. What?! "I'm sorry, Marcus. You know my Mom. You declined her invitation, right?" I asked, hoping for him to say yes. I saw him looking at the rear view mi
CHAPTER TWENTY THREE Jessica’s POV We went straight to our family house. It was a thirty minute drive from our set location. "How was your project in Cebu?" I asked to break the silence between us. He removed his jacket and sat on the swing. I walked at his back and embraced my arms around his neck. "Everything went well. Jake had to stay to finish some minor changes in our plans. How about your taekwondo class? What's your schedule?" He asked and held on to my arm. I kissed his cheek. "I'll practice there two times a week. The place is more spacious than
CHAPTER TWENTY FOUR Jessica’s POV I suddenly woke up when I felt someone touch my face. I saw Marcus looking down at me. His eyes were red and tired. I hurriedly stood up but he held on both of my shoulders, making me fall back on the folding bed. "Marcus what are you doing?" I asked softly, not wanting to make a scene. "Why can't you like me? Is there someone else in your life that I don't know?" He asked in a hard tone. "Marcus, you're still drunk! Let's talk about it later, okay? Calm down and lower down your voice. Someone might hear you." I said a
CHAPTER TWENTY FIVE Jessica’s POV Ethan was holding my hand while we walked inside the mall. His other hand was busy holding his phone as he read something that made his eyebrows form into one line. "Ethan." I called him when he suddenly stopped walking. His eyes were still fixed on his phone. "I'm sorry, babe. It's really important." He said and let go of my hand. He answered a call while looking at me. I took a deep breath and walked inside a dress boutique. I was wearing a mask so the sales lady didn't recognize me.
CHAPTER TWENTY SIX Jessica’s POV Ethan’s jaw clenched as I finished telling him what really happened. I could see that he was trying so hard to be calm. "You won't be seeing him again from now on." He said sternly. I gulped. "Simone, drive faster." He said and looked outside the window. "Yes, Sir Ethan." I saw Simone looking at us in the rearview mirror. I didn't dare to speak again and just busied myself on replying to Fabio. He was furious too. 'Five channel networks want to have an interview with you. Just tell me that you don't want to answer that lying idiot and I will turn them down now.' Fabio texted. I cursed under my breath. Mom and I did everything for my career and I couldn't believe that this issue would snatch away all of our hard work. I clear away the lump in my throat. I felt
CHAPTER TWENTY SEVEN Ethan’s POV Cindy fetched Jessica from my house. I remind my girlfriend to wear her necklace where I put the tracking device. She has no idea about it. It's for her own good. Jacob sat beside me and handed his table to me. "That's all the information I get. Sorry, but the Chief removed us from the case. He said it's too personal for you." He said and drank from the bottle of beer. The hell it is! "Mendez is one of the reasons why I'm here in this dangerous group. I won't sit around here getting lame reports from them." I said while reading the report about the recent kidnapping case.
CHAPTER TWENTY EIGHT Jessica’s POV "Good morning." I bow down to them when they stop in front of me. "Good morning, Jessy. Please meet our grandmaster, Mr. Wilfredo Elizalde. Sir, she's our new student here." Sir Alex introduced us. I smiled at them. "Welcome, Jessy. I hope you learn more in our school." Mr. Elizalde said. He has this serious awra even though he's smiling. "Do you usually go here this early? You are." Mr. Elizalde paused to look at his wrist watch. "Two hours early. Come join us for a cup of coffee." He added and tapped Sir Alex's shoulder.
