Power struggle

Ember’s POV

A power struggle was happening quietly that I didn't want to speak about. She was expecting that I replied to her antics but I was hell-bent on showing her that she was not up to the standard. I'd come to learn that ignoring them always did the trick, they say that they don't mind all the time but they get more pained

There was a knock on my door and I sighed in relief. Sonia walked in with a pretty smile on her face as she stared at me softly. I stared at her too. " Kindly help me with the kids. I need to sleep."

Having a sister-in-law was supposed to help relieve the burden but it only added to the mental stress that I was already going through. " So, tell me what have you been up to regarding the designs that we spoke about?"

I hadn't stepped my foot downstairs for a week because I was feeling very tired, lethargic even. If I complained, I would have to go to the hospital which frankly I didn't want to do.

Her eyes darted toward mine with a small smile on her face.
