Feeling Disbelief

"Never mind, stop telling a story that I don't know whose story it is. If that is your story, then tell it to yourself. Because I'm not in your story and I don't want to know about anything you tell me."

I tried to be curt, and turned my face away from the man who was now looking at me with such a sad gaze. I had no idea that all of this was something that was truly so heart-wrenching and so very painful. I don't want to get too caught up in a problem that I don't even know whose problem it is. Maybe from what the man said, and his sentences were so direct to me, how could it not be, because he said that his little girl apparently had lost her memory, and that his little girl had married a man and then separated. Of course, this is something that really shows that I am that figure, and I don't want to think about this too much at all. I don't remember anything about her at all, I don't feel close to her at all, so how can I be confident enough to admit that that little girl is me? Of
