Lorelei knew. She saw. She knew that the baby had just few minutes to live, and that she needed to do something very fast. In a masculine voice, she announced that the king said that he would like to make his way inside the delivery room. The midwife who was still trying to get the baby from the mother who clung tightly to it, froze on the spot alongside the rest in fear.

Quickly, she made her way inside with her head covered in a veil, to collect the crying and helpless toddler, who had been disengaged from its mother warm embrace. She told them concisely that the king would love to just catch a glimpse of the child's face outside, and wrapped him in a warm cloth that had been prepared by her already. Making sure her eyes didn't make contact with the dying mother, she choked in her hot and painful tears as she made her way outside.
