Vanessa’s POV

“Do you need anything else my lady?” Mimi asked politely, as she took the empty bowl of soup from the table close to my bed.

“No, I am fine” I replied with a smile on my face. Since my discharge from the hospital, Elijah has taken it upon himself to ensure my well-being and the safety of my baby. It was as if he had become my guardian, watching over me with unwavering dedication.

I couldn't help but reflect on the events that led to this moment. The doctors had warned me about the risks and complications that could arise during pregnancy, and Elijah had taken those words to heart. His love for my baby was evident in every action he took.

First, he told his mother not to bother me again and he also told her that he wasn't going to marry the girl she brought home. Though I heard from the maids that she is still in the house I honestly don't care, Elijah has already assured me that he isn't going to marry her.
