Anaya

I sigh as I recline on my bed. It’s been three weeks since I awoke in the hospital bed. And believe me when I say that this healing is a pain in the rear. Every time I try to move, the relentless ache and burn in my muscles caused me to hiss. And the fact that I move around a lot doesn’t help at all.

The first week was the most challenging. Both Nicolas and my father made it their mission not to let me move my finger, not that I could move it, anyway. The most fantastic thing, though, would be my soup dates with Nicolas. He would come every evening and feed me soup and medicines, sleeping on the sofa next to my bed. My father would chase him away in the morning and sit next to me while we spoke about various topics.

The following two weeks saw an improvement in my range of motion and the removal of certain bandages. Doctor Jane has allowed me to eat a few solid foods and move about a little, but with no stress. Nicolas was ecstatic and brought me some fruit, but my father didn
