“How is this possible?” I asked as I observed the outcome in front of me.

I turned to look to my right, where Ad was already looking perplexed. “Are you sure about this?” he asked the man who showed us the results.

“Yes, boss. I have checked it several times, but I am getting the same result,” he answered.

We were looking at a DNA sample that we had taken on Harmony. This sample did not match anyone in the database, but when it was tested for a relative, it was found to be related to Carlos, Nicolas’s father’s DNA. As Nicolas was never in the system, we could not match him. We were not even sure if the DNA was from Scar. All of this is making my mind spin.

I questioned, “What does this mean?”

He cleared his throat and said, “See here? If the biological father is to be recognized as the father, he must have matched results for each of the 20 genetic markers tested. And in this case, almost all the markers have matched, indicating that the individual is Carlos Ricci’s child.”
