Chapter 16

*POV Aliyah

The disinfectant smell made me realize I was in Serena's infirmary. This is my second time waking up here. Looking at my hand being injected with nutritional fluid, I felt a sting in my heart.

When I was in the Angel organization, I had to undergo rigorous training every day. There are times when there is a danger to life. Even so, I wasn't so miserable that I had to starve and be beaten to the point of fainting.

In the organization, everyone loved and respected me because I was a good hunter. I came to this place because I am human, despised, humiliated, and tortured. It's ironic!

Suddenly, a knock on the door interrupted my train of thought. I turned to look. The one who had just entered the room was Serena.

"Are you awake? You slept longer than I thought." Serena smiled at me. She went to my bed and did some manipulation to check my body. Then she pulled the needle out of my hand and wrapped the wound with a bandage.
