Chapter 38: Tempted by the Alpha

“No, we can’t do this.” His sigh was heavy, just like the emotions dragging him into that dark pit.

I look at him with utter need and hunger. There was a storm swirling in those beautiful eyes. Eyes that I could stare for eternity. Eyes that…I wished would only look at me forever.

The moment he said those words, I was desperate to do everything just so he would touch me. I knew that he wanted to do it with me, so what’s stopping him? My pride got slashed because he’s always been like this. He always rejects me. He always stops himself when it comes to me wanting him.

“I’m sorry, but we can’t really do this, Cass…” he whispered in a controlled voice. I bark a sarcastic laughter. “Oh, really? I’ll go to your step-brother then and ask him to make love with me because you can’t!”

My rage filled the air, and I ended up saying those nasty words even though I didn’t mean to. I hurled myself away from the bed, my head still dizzy of the effect he had on me as I walked towards the door.
