"Ryker" Preston gasped as he took in the clearing. I had a couple of pack members decorate it. There were fairy lights hung on trees. I woke up to the sound of my Dad's heartbreaking howl and I felt tears sting my eyes. I climbed out of bed as more howls and whines filled the air and looked out the window to see Papa's wolf dash into the trees. Today, 17 years ago, mama passed away and every year on this day, Papa went to the cemetery to talk to him. I felt tears roll down my face as the pain filled howls broke through the night sky. The drive from Ryker's pack house to mine was like a weight was pressing down on my chest making it hard to breathe.
