Emma:I spent the next several hours pouring over the contents of the yellow envelope. Ruby basically said that Spencer got the same cat tattoo on his arm as Shane to help pass himself off as him. It also said I was an accomplice. She somehow charged a tattoo purchase to one of my cards claiming I paid for Spencer’s is ridiculous since he has been by my side since I left the hospital. There was so much damning evidence I had to give it to her that she thought this through extremely well. She overlooked one thing though my friendship with Jennifer Wilcox.I stared at the pages until my eyes ached and my head started pounding. The photos Ruby had included happened to be before Spencer perished and I was pretty sure I could prove it. Jennifer came in to check on me for the fifth time and I told her I was done with everything. I explained that the pictures were old and that I never bought a tattoo other than for myself. The tattoo parlor was also six hours from here which we both thought
Emma: When I woke up my head was in Tony’s lap, and I saw Natasha crying. I could understand why she was so freaked out since the last time I passed out I was in a coma for months. “I am ok girl. I forget sometimes I am pregnant, and I hadn’t eaten all day that is all.” I could see instant relief on her face which eased my nerves. I hated it when she worried. The two of them helped me up and Jennifer came walking towards me with a bottle of water, a banana, and half a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I gave her a grateful look as I took the items from her. I ate everything and finished half the water. Once Tony and Natasha knew I was going to be okay I asked, “Okay now tell me what evidence you have? Wait, let me get detective Wilcox and we can fill her in as well. Do not worry she is on her side she is the only one who believes me when I say he really is Shane.” Tony told me he would get her he went to grab her and the two of them returned. Jennifer said, “I know we just left the
Waiting was not my strong suit in the slightest. Natasha, Tony, and I went back to my place and filled Kyle in on what was going on. I decided that I will tell Jennifer about Melinda and leave it up to her what was to be done with her. Sure, it wasn’t the smartest plan I could go to jail for holding her hostage but at this point I didn’t fucking care anymore. It felt like days since we left the police station but in reality, it was only an hour.We didn’t agree on a time for Jennifer to show up so all I could do was wait until she arrived. I was relieved they were not charging Natasha for using her hacking skills that was one less problem to worry about. I kept having this nagging feeling in the back of my head that something was not right, and I could not shake it. I did not know what it was about or what was causing it but from my experience with these feelings I usually wasn’t wrong. Another waiting game I suppose.Even though I knew it was impossible I was also worrying that someh
We were about halfway through dinner, and I have to say it was wonderful feeling like everything was peaceful. I had told Jennifer about Melinda and how we were holding her in the basement. She surprised me by laughing and saying, “It is never a dull moment for you is it. Do not worry once we are done here, I will call into the station and have her picked up. Since Natasha over there already turned in the woman who sent her and saved the little girl you all will be in the clear I will make sure of it. And do not worry I will make sure they know I prolonged calling.”This woman was amazing. I got that she was grateful to me for taking out the man who killed her daughter and I guess that made an unbreakable bond between us. Other than telling her about Melinda we all for the first time in ages talked about trivial shit that did not matter at all but to us nothing in the world could be better. Kyle is surprisingly a funny man and he had all of us cracking up until tears were streaming do
I was really getting tired of my cousin Ruby’s childish games. I also found it completely bizarre that she somehow broke in here and installed speakers through out my entire house especially when ninety eight percent of the time someone was always here. When she began to laugh, I could hear it coming from upstairs, from the basement, in my kitchen, in the dining room, and in the living room we were currently standing in. she really did have a way with making an entrance. Since she was making such a grand entrance into my house, I would do her a favor and act accordingly. It was time to finally end this.I called everyone close to me just in case Ruby also had listening devices implanted as well. I had no way of knowing if she was in the house or not, but we were going to find out. I turned to everyone in turn and whispered, “Okay everyone. I do not know if she is in the house, and we do not know for sure what her intentions are today though we can probably guess. Tony and Natasha, I w
The sight of Melinda’s mangled body was by far the worst thing I have ever seen in my life. Until this very moment I had no idea Ruby could be so ruthless and so destructive. I did not like the dead woman sprawled out in front of me. After all she was really trying to hurt my daughter even though she fucked that up. But I wouldn’t wish what happened to her on anyone else Ruby included. I was stuck there staring at her like a deer caught in headlights unable to move. I was surprised to find that deep down inside I was actually completely terrified. I’ve been through a lot of shit in my life, some that would scare the pants off of most, but this was horrific.Shane grabbed me by the shoulders and shook me with more force than needed. I wondered how I looked to make him have such a worried gleam in his eyes. “Emma, we have to get the others who fucking knows where Ruby is right now, and we all heard her say she was going to take us all out one by one.” I nodded in agreement as we ran up
I was foggy for a few minutes while I tried reopening my eyes. The room was covered in a thick black fog of smoke, and I could smell something that smelt of fire and burnt flesh but the black cloud in the room was preventing me from seeing where it came from. My ears were ringing, and I could barely hear anything. I was pretty sure the slight sound making its way into my ears was Natasha screaming. I really hoped she was okay, but I still couldn’t see anything. I sat up and tried popping my ears to no success. All I could do was sit there and wait for my ears to stop ringing or for some of the fog to dissipate. A few minutes passed and suddenly all the noise came rushing in. I felt like I was in a room with thousands of people instead of just five. I called out to each of them in turn and everyone answered me saying they were okay except for Kyle. I was relieved when Shane said that he was fine but not getting an answer from Kyle was almost as painful as if it was my future husband.
A steady stream of blood started squirting out of Kyles chest and at that moment all I wanted to do was punch Shane in the face for his idiocy. I pushed Shane out of the way and put both of my hands on Kyles wound and started applying as much pressure as I could. “One of you please try to find me a towel or something I can hold over this injury or he might very well bleed out.” I said with a shaky voice. I was freaking out I knew it and I didn’t know how to stop myself from spiraling.“Do as Emma requests, and while you are at it get me a sewing kit, I saw one in the bathroom near the kitchen. I can sew his wound up I have done it before on far worse injuries.” Jennifer said. I sighed with relief as Tony crawled away to get the supplies. I knew in that moment before the day was over Ruby would no longer be breathing. She was not going to get away with hurting yet another person I loved.Tony came back with my sewing kit and a few towels. Jennifer did not hesitate to get to work. She h
