My Perfect Abrupt Marriage
Chapter 4
Cardyn’s
When I regained my consciousness, I was lying on the bed without no one by my side. My head was quite aching making me inadvertently shaking it, intending to remove the headache. The last thing I remember was that man who pulled me into his arms and kidnapped me! Where did he… Oh, this is my room. Why am I in my room? Wasn’t I in his car and tied up?
I looked at my wrists, and there was faint red spot around it. As expected, that man is no good. He really let mee have red spot around my wrists. Ah, it’s making me angry. Without prompting for my head to feel better, I climbed down the bed and headed outside. I swear if I see that man in this house, I’d make him pay for the loss he caused. I didn’t receive Kurt’s payment!
I had a plan involving that money and he had to ruin that!
“Wife, you’re awake?”
Who dare call me…
I scoffed, looking at the shamelessness this man got. I glimpsed at my mother who was suspiciously grinning at me so wide it made me shudder. What did he do?!
With a frown on my face, I folded my arms and lifted my brows. I questioned with the coldest voice I have, “Ma, why did you let a stranger inside our house?!”
Dalvin’s smile didn’t fade resulting in to making me swallow my saliva. Why do I feel like he had said something unfavorable about me to my mom? No, wait. Don’t tell me he revealed what we did the other day?!
“Dear, why didn’t you tell me you’ve been seeing your boyfriend secretly? You even had a plan to get married by the end of the month.”
Wait, what did she say? Marriage? With whom? I shook my head, alternately looking at my mom and Dalvin with deep furrow of my brows. I scowled at Dalvin, warning him.
“What did you say to my mom?”
His eyes turned sullen, “Honey, you… don’t tell me you plan to keep this a secret even after our marriage?”
“Marriage?! What the hell are you talking,” I paused, looking at my Mom, “Ma, don’t be fooled by his appearance. I don’t know him…”
“What are you talking about? We… promised each other and we even did the deed marriage couples should only do.”
I blinked my eyes at his boldness, dumbfounded. I was speechless, helplessly staring at my mom who seemed proud at me. Does she now know who this guy was?
After a long meaningful contemplation, I moistened my lower lip with aggravation.
“Ma, you’re wrong. This guy is fooling you, we’re strangers,” I pointed at him- this time was with frustration, “He’s Luke’s boss, Ma.”
I was aware mom’s eyes had become blurred with the passage of time so it was understandable that she wouldn’t be able to recognize Dalvin. Anyhow, I don’t get it at all.
Mom approached me, her expression remained the same despite what I had revealed.
“I understand, dear. You have my blessings,” she tenderly held my hands, “I give you my full blessings.”
My mom ditched me for this man. Sigh, life.
*
There was no wedding, only signing some documents that would make us official blessings. I looked at my ring with a deep exhalation. This ring that costed hefty amount of money is right on my finger. I got married, I really got married.
I sighed.
Luke was mad at me for not telling him that I had a relationship with Dalvin but hey I didn’t know we were dating. It really was just a one-night stand. I closed my eyes, clenching my fists in annoyance. Leaning my head on the windowpane of the car, I heard a giggle right beside me.
“You see, I don’t divorce someone unreasonably.”
I scoffed at him. I don’t know whether I should feel happy or surprise that he just became my husband.
“I don’t know why you’re adamant of marrying me when we only shared one night together.”
When I faced him, he had a devious smirk on his face. This was exactly why I didn’t want to marry him – no one knew his true colors other than me.
He reclined deeply on the seat, “That night is beautiful than you know, it’s etched on my mind.”
I rolled my eyes at his arbitrary explanation.
I didn’t bother answering him for I feel anger than I already was. Why was I even seduced that night by his seductive, beautiful blue eyes? His soft, lingering touches sent me to feel wonders. I felt my cheeks heated up, so I gently slapped them with a bashful expression.
“That Kurt Huonan, I didn’t get to ask but why were you with him on that party?”
I shrugged my shoulders, “Why would you trouble yourself knowing? Even if I don’t answer, you already knew.”
I looked away from his eyes which seemed to relay that he was very much amused at what was transpiring. Unlike me, who felt this situation was just irrational and abrupt.
“You’re right,” he hummed, “I know the answer. But since you had a history with him long before that that party, why did you go with him?”
I clicked my tongue. Why is he so chatty early in the morning? I really don’t get why he wanted to know things about me. He had the boldness face to tell Mom that we had a long-standing relationship and it’s time for us to get married, to which she accepted without any hesitation. Therefore then, he should have known why I agreed with Kurt.
“Benefits.” I merely responded.
“What kind of?” his face got nearer to mine, causing me to unconsciously shift my head away.
“It doesn’t matter right now.” I waved my hand dismissively. I faced him adding, “I don’t ask for anything; I can do with my own money and house. Our marriage, do terminate it after three months.”
He released a restrained laughter, “Surely, you don’t think I would follow your words?”
I smiled at him, “Truly you wouldn’t say you want this abrupt marriage to succeed?”
He simply stared at me and then averted his eyes. His expression turned dark and bitter – he didn’t care what I felt when he said things to my mom so why would I mind if he gets mad at me for being too aggressive with my words? It’s not like we have love between us.
He crossed his arms, warning. “Whatever happens,” he smirked, “You are now my woman, and I am your man. You must be faithful to me otherwise I’d make you suffer of the consequences.”
My Perfect Abrupt Marriage Chapter 5 Cardyn’s Luke folded his hands on his chest, uncomfortable about the whole situation. If he felt unsettled about it, what’s more when I was the one the most who felt used to this whole situation. I rolled my eyes at him, feeling aggravated. After dealing with Daniel the way he wanted to, I went to work – I am a manager in a restaurant. “Why are you here?” Luke drank the lemonade juice I made especially just for him. If marrying Daniel Manzo wasn’t enough, what’s more when Manzo’s company is near this restaurant? It only meant that I was destined to encounter Daniel occasionally. Luke glared at my wedding ring. “I am here to ask you. What happened to you and him?” I sighed, “Why do you want to know? I thought you wouldn’t want to meddle in my affairs?” His lips twitched then placed the glass loudly on the table. Therefore, I warned him, “If that glass breaks, you’ll have to pay for it.” He scoffed, “Aren’t you married to someone wealthy? Buy
My Perfect Abrupt Marriage Chapter 6 Cardyn’s Having that one-night stand with him shouldn’t have that much effect on him. Since it should have been me who was fantasizing future but I wasn’t. Upon discovering I rolled the sheets with Daniel Manzo, I dared not dream of having a family with him. Besides, let’s just say we just got into the mood and went along with the atmosphere. I wasn’t that drunk but it may be because of the alcohol I drank that night. I don’t know why Daniel badly wanted to have a marriage binding us together. I was forced, but he… I think for him this was just a mere play. I clicked my tongue and averted my eyes from him. I shouldn’t say things like this to him knowing that my brother is working under him, he could take revenge on me using Luke. I sighed and was unwilling to forfeit. Why do I have to act all kind and sweet like other women just to please him? I gritted my teeth, “It’s my fault,” I lowered my head, “I… went overboard. I will be cautious from
My Perfect Abrupt Marriage Chapter 7 Cardyn's When I was young, I used to imagine how life would have felt like if I were in a Disney movie or land. I imagined it to be perfect, additionally not having to worry about money or something like that. However, as I grew up in a rather humble background, I dare not complain for I knew that's the capacity of my parents and I am just fine with it. Though sometimes it's good to imagine if my life was any different from my current status, I didn't want to leave what I had been accustomed to and be treated as though I was some noble lady like what was happening right now. Awkwardly, I lifted the knife beside the plate with a forced tug of my lips. I internally debated what to cut and eat first as there were a lot of dishes to pick from. In our house, I only got to eat a maximum of three dishes overall including the rice in our bowls. Sometimes, when I eat in a food chain I order a maximum of four different orders and I must eat all of them t
My Perfect Abrupt Marriage Chapter 8 Cardyn's I don't know why Wilson saw Kurt when I just saw him recently. But well, wealthy people are different. They could fly right now wherever they wanted unlike those who work harder than those who were naturally born with a golden spoon in their mouths. I wonder what I will do once I have a really big cash in my hands. I smiled at my thoughts, dismissing them away and focusing on my work again. My work was peaceful although sometimes, customers were rude. That was occasionally so I hope I won't encounter them today to ruin my mood. Nevertheless, I hope Wilson and Elena are having the best times of their life right now since they’re newly married. I saw Linda come inside with a grin on her face. Truly a lady with both virtue and cuteness. “Linda, you’ve come.” I greeted her to which she waved her hand, quickly waving at me as a greeting. “Manager. You arrived earlier than me today. Did something good happen?” I beamed at her, shrugged m
My Perfect Abrupt Marriage Chapter 9 Cardyn’s Awkwardly, I smiled at her, merely giving a nod of my head. Adapting wouldn’t come overnight or would I be able to get accustomed to this new surrounding so easily. “A-all right,” I glanced at the other maids who bowed at me, “I, I should go and rest for a while.” She grinned at me, “Now I know why Master insisted that we take the most care of you. I finally understand why he did so.” Confused more, I furrowed my brows, “Dan... Daniel ordered so?” She nodded her head vigorously, “Yes, yes. Then I won’t bother you anymore, Madame. I still have a lot of matters to attend to.” Just like that, she again bowed at me and left her way. I heaved a deep sigh, glancing at her each of the stairs I took. Daniel told her to take care of me. What does that mean? Is it some sort of drama-romance where I should be touched and have my heart fluttering over that? Well, maybe it was the unexpected gesture that was thrown at me. Daniel is such an outs
My Perfect Abrupt Marriage Chapter 10 Although it was not my intention to be of burden of him, he still carried me all the way to the dining room, gaining the maids giggly attitude and shyly gazing at us but cannot make a comment on it. He placed me on the chair, while I feel embarrassed. He just carried me but why do I feel so affected? “See how much you troubled me.” he stated. I sighed, “I didn’t ask you to carry me all the way here. Did I?” Daniel shook his head, motioning the head maid to serve our meals. This would be our first dinner together. Well, I don’t know any more since I feel the hungriness taking over my sanity. After the serving, we dug onto our meals. I even almost coughed up the food I took since I continuously chew down on the food had it been not for Daniel for handing me water. I caught my breath, patting my chest, “Thank you.” He shook his head, “I think what you need is a caretaker.” “No need. I was just hungry.” He laughed, “No one will take your food
My Perfect Abrupt Marriage Chapter 11: Sweet Things Doesn’t Last Dalvin smiled at her, shading her from the sun and looking at the vendor, who was cooking her wanted food – sugarcoated potato. He was also quite unsure if he should take a bit since it looked odd and it was his first time smelling this unusual, sweet aroma. For some reason, though, he felt that everything would be fine as long as nothing happened. Last night was an accident and there would be no second time – if ever, he’d slice everyone’s necks. Soon after, the vendor finished cooking thus he handed the sweet potato over Cardyn’s hand with a wide grin. He praised, “You two look perfect for each other. You two are husband and wife, right?” Dalvin unconsciously smiled, “Yes, that’s correct. She’s my wife. Pretty, isn’t she?” The vendor owner merrily laughed at his boldness causing Cardyn to flush and look away in a dash. Not knowing what to do when she was praised like that in front of someone, she only timidly pout
My Perfect Abrupt Marriage Chapter 12: Steals of Kisses Dalvin consciously looked at the back figure of Cardyn, and couldn’t help but overthink what had happened to her while he was out. However, nothing bad could have occurred to her since his guards were beside her – he even commanded them to be seriously guarding her instead of watching like mere onlookers. He released a sigh and then shook his head. His worry wasn’t really necessary in their marriage life. Indeed, it was just a hasty marriage – he wouldn’t need to be concerned about her in every detail. In fact, what he was anxious about was Sofia. She texted him randomly, smiled at him like nothing had happened, and just earlier hugged him. For whatever reason? He inclined on the cushion deeply, pondering about the chances of Sofia still having feelings for him. He was conflicted. It could neither be about Sofia’s unexpected appearance nor the unusual behavior of his wife. He closed his eyes, massaging his temples. Cardyn, on
