Dinner at Home

"Creed, your phone has been ringing for a while now." Athena tapped me occasionally.

"Please pass me my phone." I replied to her and I closed my eyes again.

She handed me my phone and I picked the calls up.

"Come home for dinner alone. Don't come with your wife and kid." My father's cold voice said into the phone. He hung up almost immediately.

I got up from the bed. He just ruined my beautiful nap. I rarely sleep in the afternoon but today was a nice Saturday plus Athena was at home.

She and Ava are literally inseparable sometimes. Today is one of those days. I stretched my hand to carry Ava but her mom held close her chest and told me to let her mom daughter time.

"My dad asked me to come home for dinner today." I sighed.

"Is it not too late? I mean why is he just telling you." She inquired.

"He told me to come alone, obviously the whole family wanted to have the dinner without me and he decided to invite me on impromptu." I explained.

"Are you going?" She got up from the bed
