The Fear

 Trisha stretched out as the last movie played. "It's getting late. We've been watching stuff all day."

"I told you I would," Ryan whispered. His voice was even shakier now. The couch had nearly swallowed him with as much force as he pushed himself back into the softness. 

"You really pushed yourself too hard," Kanda commented with a grin.

"Kanda, you need to go home," Ryan ground out between his teeth. "Trisha won't be playing your game tonight."

"Hey!" Trisha objected. She instantly felt regret for feeling sorry for him at all. "You're not trying to get me to see your creepy relatives again, are you?"

"No," Ryan shook his head. "But I need to sleep soon. I have an important job tomorrow."

Trisha stayed silent as she thought about what he said. "Why do you need to tell me that? I can just stay up and pull an all-nighter. There's a lot that Kanda and I need to do in-game."
