Chapter 43 Rescue

The dark forest is surrounded by unusual stillness, too quiet for a night. Dark shadows lurking, concealed by darkness.

A pair of red eyes fixed on the nearby camp, poorly lit by dying torches. No scoundrels in view, no indication of movement, but the red-eye monster could hear loud snores.

They crept through the darkness, entering the smelly place without being detected. Silently killing whoever was on sight.

”No one was left of the scoundrels, Alpha” someone spoke in the mindlink.

"We found the room, there were movements from the inside" another one spoke.

They have been in the forest for three nights, watching the camp. Rogues come and go, leaving the place vulnerable at night. Sorcerers' presence was also spotted but they would leave after midnight.

On the fourth night, they infiltrated the camp undetected. They are already sure, captives were kept somewhere. Cries and screams would fill the whole place right after dusk where sorcerers w
