Brenda's Injury

"This is not a toy." She said, taking off the bullets and partially dismantling the gun. Just in case his itchy hands decided to touch the pistol again.

She did not ask him how the hell he got hold of it, at least, he did not put the bullet in his body.

"Don't bother, I'll cover it up with a tarpaulin, just in case it rains at night." She explained calmly when she noticed his eyes drifting from her to her ventilated roof.

"Thank you." He finally opened his mouth. His words came out in a whisper.

He looked cute.

"You should be happy that, that was not your head." She secured the weapon in her bedside cupboard, she could not keep it far away too. It was meant for defense.

"No, thank you for not returning with a knife, or another gun." That fright was gone, only for it to be replaced by a mischievous grin on his face.

"Well, you had your eyes open, so…" she decided to play along.

They laughed it off.

She got into the sheets and laid by his side.
