Chapter 35

Elaine was inside the car parked at the foot of General Hills Cemetery where the town was. She kept checking the time and looking out once in a while.

Not long after, Quinn got into the car.

“Are you alright, Miss Norris? Why are your eyes so red?” Elaine could not help asking.

“I’m fine.”

Quinn rubbed her eyes quickly and forced a smile. “I think sand might have gotten into my eyes.”

She changed the topic. “By the way, when will the Quaids’ auction start?”

“In less than half an hour,” Elaine quickly updated.

“Let’s go.”

Quinn instructed.

Elaine was about to start the car when they saw someone coming from afar.

It was Chase.

Elaine was the first one to call out, “Chase Collins.”

Quinn was slightly surprised and quickly rolled down the window to stare at him coldly.

Chase, who had just come down from General Hills Cemetery, turned to look. There was a look of exasperation on his face as he said, “My dear Miss Norris, South River may just be a city, but it’s not that small.
