“No, I don’t want to wait. Get me Alex,” Ciara hissed into the receiver of the phone. I glanced over my shoulder and watched her pace the length of the room. Gray clouds drifted by the window, allowing little rays of light to trickle in through the curtains.

It pained me to think that the monsoon season was already over. I dropped the paper on the table and walked over to her as she threw her hand up in frustration.

“We can’t use the Argentum jet to get back to Moon Valley,” she said, her voice cracking under her frustration. “I’m trying to get a hold of Alex to see if he can track down my personal jet.”

My eyebrows rose as I let out a chuckle and shook my head. Ciara’s face went cold, clearly unimpressed by my lack of understanding as to why this was an issue. Then again, being the CEO of a huge company, she was probably used to getting things right away. But watching her struggle with arranging a flight back home was comical to me.
