Chapter Fifteen

I prefer the showers in the gym over mine and Emberly's shower bathtub combo we have in the house. There's more space to stretch out our legs and relax on the shower bench as jets of water rain down on Emberly and me. I handed Emberly her shampoo and conditioner from the rack and then grabbed my own and started washing my hair out. Usually, I would dive into washing Emberly's hair myself, but at this moment, my muscles are locked up, and I can barely wash myself off, let alone her.

"Did you remember to take your pill when you woke up this afternoon?"

"I took it last night before I brushed my teeth, so I wouldn't forget to take it,"
