A surprise

Chase's POV

Well, that was the last thing that I expected. The once ordinary-looking Belinda Morris has turned into a swan. She is gorgeous. I did not think that she would become that beautiful. I may be the wealthiest man in New York, but Belinda Morris is not someone to play with. She can be a very dangerous opponent. She knows the law very well, and I know she is one of the best lawyers in America. That's why I brought all my stuff to her. Jake and Amanda Green do not stand a chance against Belinda Morris. Their firm was already struggling. And now that I have left, I know many of my friends will also leave them. They are not worthy of being called lawyers. They are only in it for the money. They like high-profile clients and high-profile cases that will put them in the news and make them famous.

I don't immediately drive away as I stand smoking beside my limousine. I do not like the smoke inside my limo. I do not smoke much. I only smoke when I feel like it. I don't know why I felt like smoking after seeing Belinda. Maybe it's because she is so damn hot. It is almost four, and I might as well look for a place to eat. I do not feel like eating dinner alone tonight. I will invite one of my friends. I will call Nick Bradley and hear if he's in the mood to come and eat with me. We used to party a lot together until I had that affair with Belinda. After that, it was like I lost interest in other women. I don't know why it goes back then Belinda was not as attractive as now. I'm about to throw away the cigarette and get into my limo when I see Belinda walking out with a little boy. I cannot see the child's face as she carries him. His face is nestled in her neck. Then he looks up, and he looks me straight in the eye. I am shocked. I don't know what to do. The little boy looks just like me. He even has the same colored eyes as I have. It's the same light blue color as my eyes. Not many people have that color of eyes. Can it be? No, we used protection that night.

I cannot take my eyes off the little boy as I feel he is my son, and somehow the protection did not work, but why will Belinda hide him from me? Most women want to catch me and have tried to get me in bed without protection. I never fall for the tricks, but what the hell? Is he mine? He looks a hell of a lot like me. I take another deep pull at the cigarette. I cannot stop staring at this little boy. He looks at me and frowns. Then the little brat sticks his tongue out to me.

"Cigarettes are dangerous. It will kill you," He says. Belinda walks on. She doesn't even look around.

"Honey, leave other people alone. If they want to smoke, let them. It is not our problem. As long as you know not to smoke one day," Belinda says as they walk past me. She did not even see me.

"Yeah, but the man stares at me as if he knows me. Mommy, why does he look like me?" The little boy asks. Belinda looks around and looks straight into my eyes. Her face is pale.

"Don't be silly. Doesn't look like you," Belinda says but walks faster to the awaiting car.

"Belinda! Belinda stop! We need to talk!" I shout as I try to get to them. However, there are so many people on the sidewalk that it is difficult for me to get through them to Belinda in time. She gets into the car with the child, and I drive off.

"Fuck! You can run, but you cannot hide," I shout when the car drives past me. I get into my limo and tell them to follow the vehicle. I want to know where my boy stays. I know his mind. He looks too much like me. We follow the car at a distance so that she does not realize she is being tracked. My men know how to do this because I only hire the best. I'm not a billionaire for nothing. I know what I want in life and how to get it. However, right now, I do not know what I want. I do not know how to feel about the fact that I have a child. Damn it. Why didn't she tell me? Why did I have to find out this way? I do not understand Belinda.

Other women would have come after me and told me they were expecting my child because they wanted me to marry them. But she ran away and hid the child from me. I wonder what his name is. I see the pull into a big house, but I tell my men to stay back. Look at the home next door. I am sure at the right price; her neighbors will sell. It is a good neighborhood, and I am sure if I want to sell the house again one day, I can make a profit, but for now, I want it as my house to stay in. I want to be as close to Belinda and the little boy as possible to discover if he is mine. Not that I have any doubts. He looks just like me.

"Let's go. Find how to stay next door to Belinda Morris. Make them an offer on that house that they cannot refuse. I want to be in that house by next week. I do not want her to know that somebody else has moved in. So we will have to do it when she is at work. You can help the people move out during the day. And we can move in as soon as they are out. This must happen when Belinda is at work," I order my secretary. I ask a lot, but I know what they can do. I know that they cannot arrange everything as I want it.

"The neighbors from the left or the right?" My secretary asks.

"I do not care. The one that wants to sell. Please make an offer to the one on the right first because I like the house more. I do not care how much you have to offer them as long as they sell," I say.

I do not want Belinda to see me close to her house because I know she has gotten a threat, and she did not want me to know about our son. I don't understand her. She's not like other women. Other women would have done anything to get me except for Belinda Morris. Perhaps she thinks she is too good for me and that I am just a player. I must admit back then, I was and playboy. I saw women as playthings because they kept falling at my feet. It was easy for me to get a woman, and it was easier for me to get them into my bed. When I slept with Belinda at night, I told her I was uninterested in the relationship. She laughed at me and said she was not interested in any relationship. Of course, I did not take it seriously because what woman does not want me? I know I am an arrogant bastard. My mother always tells me that I am spoiled. She says that women are spoiling me by throwing themselves at my feet. One day I will get one that does not want me, which is the one that I will want, and I will learn a lesson from using women. I usually laugh at her and kiss her on the cheek.

"I love you too, Mom," I will tell her and then wink at her. My dad will shake his head and not say his word as usual. My father is used to me always teasing my mother. They are retired and are staying in New York. I still see them often and am very close to my family. My sister just finished her studies. She is the baby in the family, and everybody loves her a lot. She has studied to become a lawyer and admires Belinda Morris a lot. She was the one telling me to go to Belinda. She told me everything she knew about Belinda and how good Belinda was as a lawyer. She is one of the best defense lawyers in the country and very good at divorce cases. I don't need a divorce lawyer because I've never been married, but I need a good defense lawyer. I've been sued a lot by people that think I am an easy target because I am a billionaire.

I drive home to get ready to go out because I cannot be alone tonight. I have called Nick, and he looks forward to going out for the night. We will meet at our favorite restaurant. Nick Bradley's father owns a bunch of restaurants. We will go to Bradley tonight. It is one of the best restaurants in town, and they serve the most fantastic ice cream. I take a quick shower and get dressed in fresh clothes. I am so used to wearing suits that I no longer think I own regular clothing. Bradley's is a fancy restaurant, so a suit is in order. Nick and I walk in, and he stops dead in his tracks.

"Is that Belinda Morris? I didn't know she was back in town. I knew there was a new law firm, Morris and Partners, but I never thought it was her. Wow, I guess I'm going to change lawyers. She looks stunning," Nick says, and for the first time, I feel like I want to hit my best friend.

"Belinda Morris is off limits. I mean it, Nick, don't mess with her," I say. Nick looks at me as if he is in shock.

"Don't tell me you're in love with Belinda Morris. You are, aren't you, you big lousy bastard!" Nick says. The little boy comes running to Belinda. He must have been playing at the play pin in the restaurant where the kids play.

"Mommy, look, I won a bunny," The little boy says excitedly. I look at Nick, and Nick's eyes look like it will pop out of his head. His mouth hangs open as he looks at me and then at the little boy.

"When did that happen? And why didn't you tell me? Holy hell, you are a father!" Nick says as he walks toward Belinda and the little boy, but I grab him by the arm and pull him back.

"I found out this morning myself, I only saw her and the little boy, and she didn't look like she wanted me near him," I whisper.

"It is a cute bunny, Conner," Belinda says.

"You can have it, Mommy. Boys don't play with bunnies, and it is pink," Connor says. Well, at least now I know my son's name is Connor.

"What are you going to do? You can't just let this slip. He is obviously your son, and if your parents find out, they will not be happy with you. You know how long they have been waiting for her grandson. Ohh, boy, you're in trouble," Nick says.

"My parents have no say over my life! I will have to be very careful because she's a lawyer. She can fuck me up if she wants to. She will not allow me near her son. I know that. I also know I cannot fight her in court for my son. It was a one-night stand. I use protection. I don't know what happened. She never told me. One would think that the woman would want me. Well, she obviously doesn't," I say, and I think about what I did this morning. I thought it probably pissed her off even more. She must believe that I am a real asshole. I see Jake and Amanda Green walking toward her and Conner as we stand there. They walked straight to Belinda.

"Well, well, well. What do we have here? That is why you didn't come back to town. You have a little bastard," Amanda says.

"If you call my son a bastard again, you will regret it," Belinda says. I can see that Jake can not take his eyes off Belinda. It pisses me off. I walk over with long strives, followed by Nick.

"Are these people bothering you and my son, honey?" I ask. I do not bother greeting Jake and Amanda. Although I know them, I pretend not to. Belinda starts coughing as she chokes on the coffee she is drinking, and Amanda and Jake look at me and then the little boy in disbelief.
