Connor's POV

I cannot believe that I am in love. I was teasing Jimmy for falling in love with Cassie. Now I am in love with Norma. I know it is why I could not stop thinking about her. I guess she stole my heart long ago. I didn't want to believe it because I had always felt sorry for Eva. I thought she was the one that was bullying Eva. I know Norma will never talk badly about Eva or anyone else. I have seen the way she acted. She took all the blame on herself. I understand she was not always pleasant doing school, but it was because she was not happy at home. We even saw the way her mother could handle her some days. We should have known that our mother and her father were not treating her well. However, we never noticed her because we saw her as the enemy. I wonder how many of the stories that Eva told us were true. She will sometimes come out of the bathroom crying, saying that Norma has hit her. However, I have never seen Norma getting physical with anybody else.
