I slowly put the phone on my ear to speak with Mr. King as Olive continued to stare at me like she was about to swallow me whole.

"Hello, where have you been?" He asked almost angrily.

"I… I'll tell you about it later." I told him quietly, my heart ached because I couldn't really express what was happening to me right now, I didn't want him to be worried and just focus on the ceremony.

"What do you mean by later, where the hell are you?" He asked but before I could reply Olive snatched the phone from my hands and ended the call.

"No lovey-dovey call in front of me." She smiled at me while putting my phone back in her purse. I couldn't help but think of how worried Mr. King would be because I had disappeared from the ceremony without any reasonable explanation.
