Begging for mercy

Nicholas came running to the church not caring if he seemed like a maniac to anyone because his family was at stake. He came all the way to church because he knew what he had to do save his family. He placed his hand at his knees to calm his wild heart beat down. He looked at the church in front of him and today it wasn't looking like a building made with bricks to him anymore.

But he felt a ray of hope illuminating in his heart. Somehow he felt that if he will beg here then he can get his family back. He believed that there was something for sure who wanted him to come to him and beg for mercy and apologize for his sins. He slowly and hesitantly started walking towards the entrance like a kid scared of his mother's scolding.
