Chapter 3 - A Break

It was too dark and Ceyda was standing too far but he recognized him in a blink. Her heart just stopped beating for a while. She tried to keep herself stable. Emre and Ezgi were making out in the back of the restaurant.

Rehan was right but why it broke Ceyda? Why has she hated this man who already left her? Her blood was boiling with anger. She couldn’t realize when her tears started rolling down her face. She felt so helpless, seeing him in this situation. She wanted to tear him apart but she controlled herself and left from there. She was walking fast in the empty street. She closed her eyes and a bubble of memories burst into her mind.

It was her first year of university and she was sitting with Emre on the bench near the lake. The Dawn brought cool air which let Ceyda’s pitch-black hair dance on her face. She put her head on Emre’s shoulder and closed her eyes.

“Do you know? You appeared like Spring in my life and defeated Autumn.” She whispered and made Emre glance at her face. He caressed her cheek with the edge of his fingertips.

“And you bring happiness to my life.” He answered with a smile and she removed her head from his shoulder to look straight into his eyes.

“Don’t you dare leave me?” She pouted. He chuckled and pinched her nose. They both exchanged gazes for a minute and then Emre's lips touched hers.

Ceyda's eyes opened wide and a tear dropped out of the corner of her eyes. She was leaning and weeping on her bed, staring at the roof. No wonder how and when she escaped from the restaurant, away from Emre and his new girlfriend and ended up came back to her home. She was thinking about Emre. How suddenly he changed and showed his true colors. She was so vulnerable about how things were getting worse day by day. She was literally going through mental trauma and then she recalled what Rehan told her.

“YOU NEED A BREAK”

Rehan’s voice was resonating in her ears and finally, she left her bed and folded her hair in a bun.

“I need a break;" She gasped and closed her eyes. Inhaling all the fresh air in her surroundings.

She looked at the wall clock which was showing six in the morning. She opened a mobile application and started checking the timings of intercity buses going from Ankara to Istanbul. Ceyda was typing something on her phone in a hurry but then she stopped, sat, and ran towards her wardrobe. She opened her bag and checked her wallet that how much money she had

“500 Turkish Liras, too less," She gasped in disappointment.

Then checked her jacket’s pockets, jewelry boxes, books, and every possible place where she could save money. In the end, she found 750 Turkish Liras approximately. It was enough money for her for a one-week vacation. An excited smile appeared on her face.

She ran towards the bed to grab her phone. Again started finding suitable bus timings to book. Finally, she found a bus that was leaving around nine in the morning. Now she had only two hours to pack, prepare and arrive at the bus terminal. She quickly booked her seat an then started packing stuff that was in front of her. She then put it in her backpack and ran toward the bathroom to take a quick shower. Wrapping herself in a yellow floral dress with white sports shoes, she looked sober yet stunning. She put minimum makeup on her face. Just a code of mascara and lip gloss on her perfectly plumped lips. She then straightened her already silky hair and left the apartment along with her backpack.

From the road, she headed towards the tram station, and luckily, she caught the tram. It was going directly to the bus terminal. Suddenly, a thought about her workplace popped into her head. She didn’t inform them yet that she was leaving for Istanbul. How could she? It was too sudden but she left a text message to Rehan;

“Hey sweetie, Good Morning… You said that I need a break, right? And I think, yes… Handle the situation at the restaurant, Love you.”

“But where are you going? I’m worried about you.”

“I don’t know yet... just going to disappear.” she replied and switched her phone off.
