Chapter 54 – Home at Last

Just past the entrance of lined trees are extensive open meadows filled with flowers. Beyond them are large mountains. “Welcome home,” Onyx whispers into my ear as I gasp at the view. “Onyx, it is beautiful.” I coo as I press my face against the window, trying to get a better view. “Don’t hurt yourself. I will take you on a tour, and you can see everything we have to offer.” Onyx laughs as we pass a lake. “You have a lake as well?” I ask excitedly. “Yeah, we jet ski and fish from there,” Onyx announces as he points out a massive Bald Eagle diving toward the water. “We are not the only ones who live here. We have three nests currently, and they all host eggs. We should see baby Eagles taking their first flights here in a little while.” He announces as I watch the Eagle pull a fish out of the water and fly back into the sky.
