I can feel the floor move out from under me as my body begins to fall. “Briar!” I hear Onyx call me before everything goes black. When I wake, I am lying in bed with my Doctor standing above me. “How are you feeling? Do you remember what has happened?” She asks calmly. “Are my babies ok?” I demand as I begin to panic about their well-being. “They are just fine. Can you tell me what you remember?” She reassures me.

“Onyx told me some news, and I guess I must have blacked out.” I struggle to sit up, and she holds me down. “You need to keep your feet up so it doesn’t happen again.” She insists. “Where is Onyx?” I ask as tears spring to my eyes. “I am right here, Briar.” He states as he jogs around to the opposite side of the bed and sits beside me. “I cannot handle him like this.” I cry, thinking of what terrible things my father can do. “No, Luna, you cannot.
