Calyx

It was interesting watching her expressions as she took in the views of my coven. To be fair, the place does look rather magical with vines wrapped around the vast estate, wisteria hanging from every alcove trees woven all around as a waterfall gushes to the side, but looks can be deceiving. She looked at everything, utterly captivated, as she observed where I had brought her.

This is not the first time I had brought a wolf here, but something about her made my gut twist. I had taken precautions, but it was too late to turn back now. The rest of my coven was making the arrangements, and when the full moon came, we would start the ritual.

I tucked one of her braids behind her ear, her dark, soulful eyes gazing up at me as she leaned into my touch. I knew it wasn’t entirely real, but I enjoyed it all the same. The way she looked wearing my clothes didn’t help matters. They say wolves are possessive, but I think I’d give them a fair run for their money. I almost felt sorry for her.
