I didn't bother to ask him what he wanted or why he was in my room. Whatever the case might be, I knew Nathaniel was not a man who should be trusted on any level at all. Heck, the man had done nothing but proved that he was the demon's spawn for a while now. It would be suicidal to try and reason with him. So, I just did the next best thing that came to my mind.

I screamed my lungs out. Or rather, I tried to scream my lungs out. The man was in front of me before I even opened my mouth, and his hand clasped my mouth shut, effectively preventing me from doing what I aimed.

"Bitch!" He yelled at me. "You think you can make me lose by calling your boyfriend out here? I'll just make you pay for that misconception." He sneered at me, and I cringed.

Fuck! My body became weak as my brain zeroed in on his words, especially that part about making me pay for everything. Or was it about me screaming? I didn't know, and I didn't want to know. All I was after was making sure that I was safe.
