Lexi's pov

The waiter finally came and took Nathan’s order and a chicken dish he ordered for me as well.

He looked arrogantly proud of himself for ordering it and I exhaled deeply in annoyance.

“I don't like peppers,” I muttered sourly.

His eyes met mine and he grinned.

“Just pick them out of your Sandos then,” he said firmly.

“Drink your wine and you won't even know it's in there,” Nolan suggested and I grinned slightly.

After getting our glasses of Chardonnay I distinctly heard a cell phone ringing from across the table and narrowed my eyes at Nathan.

He pulled it out from his back pocket and answered it like I wasn't even sneering at him.

Once he ended the call he looked like the floor fell out from underneath himself.

“That was Ryan, he told me the pack is going to hold a funeral for Courtney this evening and wanted to know if we would attend. He also contacted the witch to let her know that we were home unsupervised,” he said sourly.

Raising my brow I asked him who the witch was
