Who are you?

Victor's POV

I'm sitting in my office when I feel a stranger entering my grounds. It does not seem like my men have noticed anything happening, as they are all just standing around like there is nobody on our grounds. I will have to give them better training. I have enough going to worry about it now, as it is only one wolf I can feel. The wolf is on the Southern border of our grounds. My beta Antonio looks at me as I run past him.

"Alpha, where are you going? Must I come with you?" Antonio asks.

"No need. I'm just going for a run. Stay here and protect the pack while I'm gone. Get those wolves to training. They are slagging off," I say. I am thirty-eight years old. I never had a mate, and I'm not interested in finding one. I have a bunch of she-wolves that entertain me at night. My pack wants me to find a Luna, but I made a deal with Sandy, my primary lover. If I don't find my mate by forty, I will take her as my Luna. I do not know if that will happen, as she can be a bit bossy these days. She has been threatening all my other lovers. She also acts like she is already the Luna of the pack. I do not like that because I have not made her my Luna yet, and only my Luna will get to order everybody around in this pack beside me. I am furious that she thinks she can order everybody without even being my mate. I do not know if I will find a mate in the next two years, but who cares? It does not mean I have to take her as my mate just because we have an agreement.

I must remember to tell her to back off when I get back. I have been getting tired of her anyway. I can always kill her if she does not want to listen because I am about to get angry. Sandy thinks she can't do whatever she wants because we agree. She's making the biggest mistake of her life. She is not getting any younger. Perhaps our agreement is stopping her from finding her real mate. I think it's time to set her free. I'm going to cancel our agreement. However, as I run to the southern border, I have other things to consider.

As I get to the southern border, I run exactly to where I know the intruder is. I come around the corner, and there she sits. I can see she's badly wounded. Why is she not healing herself? I can smell her wolf, so I know she is a werewolf. I walk closer and look at the young girl staring up at me. She cannot be older than nineteen or twenty. I look at her in surprise. My wolf is going crazy in my head. What the hell is wrong with my wolf? I cannot have a mate this young, for crying out loud! I know I will need to help her. I don't know who did this to her, but she must have either wolfbane or silver in her blood so she can not heal herself. I shouted at my wolf to shut the hell up. He is over-excited as he has never had a mate before. What the hell is wrong with us? I am not a cradle robber! This young girl cannot be my mate. I cannot think about it right now. I need to help her.  The blood is streaming from her wounds. She looks up at me. Her blonde hair falls over her face. Her eyes are big and blue. She looks confused at me.

"Who are you, and what are you doing on my grounds?" I growl. I know I sound more scary than I meant to sound. She looks like she is going to run away.

"My name is Bonita Clarkson. I used to be Luna of the Black Raven Pack. As you can see, I have been kicked out of the pack," She answers. Bonita, what a beautiful name for a beautiful creature like her. Even though she's full of blood and her clothes are torn, she is still a beauty. Oh, great. Now my wolf has me thinking like this. I cannot think of this child as my mate. Am I crazy?

"So you were Oscar's mate. That boy never had any sense in him. Why would he let go of somebody looking like you? Anyway, let me look at your wounds. What did he do to you? And why did he reject you? What have you done?" I ask.

"He screwed my sister and thought I was not worthy of being his mate because I have a magical wolf like you. You were also kicked out of the pack because you were different, wasn't it?" She asks. I look at her, knowing she can feel our bond. That is why she looks so confused. She must probably not want an old wolf like me for a mate. I hardly hear what she says as I look into the air. I look at the moon. It is hanging full in the air.

"Are you crazy? Why are you doing this to me? Wasn't it enough that I had to be different than others and kicked out of my father's pack? Now you have given me a mate who can be my daughter! Haven't I gone through enough? I am going to war with my own family because of a stupid nephew. What do you want from me? Tell me, Moon goddess! Am I a joke to you? I have been waiting for a mate my whole life, now you send me a child that does not look as if she is strong enough to be out here on her own and you make my wolf go crazy! You must have lost all your marble," I speak to the Moon Goddess. I only realized that I sounded like a drunk man when I looked at my mate's face. She looks shocked. She looks like she is going to run away. I guess I do sound a little bit crazy talking to the Moon Goddess.
