Damien stopped the car in front of Eva's apartment. Eva is desperate to get away from him and get herself together. So the moment the car stopped, she tried to open the door to get away from him. But Damien stopped her by holding her by her elbow.
Eva looked at his arm which is holding hers. All throughout the journey from that cabin to the city, she didn't say a single word to him. He didn't try to make small conversation either. Which she is grateful for.
Her emotions are all over the place, and she doesn't want to talk to him right now. The ring and their marriage certificate are weighing heavily on her mind. She still can't believe that she is married.
Her breathing picked up when she stopped her from leaving the confines of his car. She is strangely not scared of him. But she fears the unknown. She fears what he is going to drop on her next. Just like she feared, his next words shocked her to her core.
