I woke up with a big smile, knowing today was the day I could see him. I got up with Jeremy and put him back to sleep while I took a shower and began to get myself ready. I looked outside the truck was gone, my dad must have already left early. I picked out my best outfit and curled my hair. My first instinct was to turn around and leave, I knew Darren was here just a few hours ago. As I walked out of the steel door I immediately spotted my dad and Jeremy, my dad was eyeing me curiously. “Okay Kay, are you ready?” “More then I’ve ever been, I left a letter to be mailed out on the seat.” He looked over and smiled. I grabbed Jeremy and we both sat in the trailer, just wrapped him up in a big blanket and put a blanket over our heads to try and keep him warm. We drove for only about 10 minutes and we were at the cabin when I felt the snow machine come to a complete stop. We spent the next few days, shoveling a ton of snow so we could get out, we decorated the tree, made some cookies and wrapped presents. I’ve cleaned every inch of this cabin, we even tried to do some ice fishing but didn’t get anything. The days were relaxing but they were a bit long and I was feeling lonely, I would make it up the hill daily to check my messages and send my father a text. Once we got back to the cabin I made us some lunch, I ate in a hurry since I wanted to go read my letters, I was so excited to see he wrote me 3 letters.
