Chapter 17

Diamond POV

My alarm clock rang, drawing me out of my unconsciousness. But unlike some days. I didn’t sign and rolled over in my bed. I didn’t feel groggy. For some reason, despite only sleeping for five hours last night because the boys kept me up, I felt energetic.

A smile touched my lips as I opened my eyes to stare at my ceiling for a while. Maybe it was because today was also my day off. As much as I love helping people, I also needed to be there for my children, to spend time with them. They were growing so quickly and I didn’t want to miss out on this part of their lives.

Thankfully, the hospital granted my petition to have some days off. One or two in a week was more than enough. Though this was subjective to cases of emergencies and cases that required my presence.
