Chapter 19

The ride home was strained, and the only thing said was when I gave her directions back to the house. Once the car was parked, Dominique got out and handed me the key. She walked over to the mustang and got her things out. She was no longer in turmoil. Now she was angry, and that feeling was even more potent than her lust.

I opened the door at the end of the garage and started up the steps. When I realized Dominique was not behind me, I turned around and went back down. She was fiddling with her phone and pacing back and forth. It seemed like I was always messing things up with her now. I walked up to her and pulled her against me. I kissed her, but she didn’t kiss me back. I pulled back, and she just looked at me.

“I’m sorry, Dominique. I did not mean to hurt you. I don’t want to take advantage of you and then have you come back later on me about it. I told you I would not push you, and I mean to keep that promise.”

Dominique stepped away from me as she said, “It is what it is
