Chapter 67

What worried me was not her grief but how she had been acting since I gave her the stone. I had caught her holding it, and it almost looked like she was having an internal conversation with herself. The strange part was that the stone was glowing, almost as if it was talking back to her. 

I knew that her children had stopped by several times as I could always smell them in the house when I awoke. However, they hadn’t stayed long enough for me to wake up until I awoke to Michael in my room one night. My eyes opened, and I immediately smelled him. I opened my eyes and found him sitting in a chair facing the bed. I sat up, and he looked up at me.

“Michael? What are you doing in here?”
