I waited anxiously in the living room, hoping that Xin hadn't fooled me again. I never fully trusted him.

However, when the lift stopped and the door opened, my heart beat faster when I saw Eze. Without thinking, I rushed over and hugged him. “Are you okay?“ I asked.

Eze wrapped his hands around me tightly. “Yeah, I'm fine. I was worried about you instead,” he said, checking on me to see if I was fine.

I detected some cold wind from Xin's direction, but I didn't care about that at the time. I smiled at Eze. “I'm fine. I'm really fine,” I said.

Xin took some steps towards us, his hands in his pockets. “Your time is up, man. You have to go,” he said. He seemed to regret having let the two of us meet.

Eze looked at Xin coldly. Then he held my hand. “Let us go,” he said.

And I froze in place. Did he think that I was going to leave with him? I began feeling uneasy.

He paused to look at me with creased brows. “What is wrong?“ He asked. He turned to look at Xin before looking at me again.
