When I was younger, I believed that poor people would have it better in life, because of the movies and drama series I watched where the protagonist is the poor one, while the antagonist is the rich one. But, now that I am older, I realized that the rich people are the ones who will have a life that is easier. Maybe the life of the poor protagonist was better in my eyes because of the fact that it’s fictional. The writers of that drama or movie romanticized the life of the poor people, and made the rich ones’ life seem ugly and bad. It made the younger me become happy that I was poor, when in fact I shouldn’t be happy that my parents decided to create a family without any plans or stable jobs to keep us fed.

I hate how as the eldest daughter, I had to fend for my siblings myself, because our parents would never do that.
