Chapter 72: Meeting the Senator I

“Do you mind telling me why the Senator is asking for you?”

I don’t realise the officer is speaking until he turns his head to look at me. Nervousness is making me trip on this dress, and i didn’t consider how hard it would be to walk in it, only that it was pretty and it would look good on me.

“Or do you mind, that i’m asking you about your relationship with him?”

I didn’t respond the first time, and if i keep on with my silence, i can tell how that will look. He’s helped me today in avoiding what would have been a pickly issue for me. I can’t respond to that type of kindness with rudeness.

Through the fluttering nervousness in my stomach i give a response, “He’s no one special. Just someone who has something i need.”
