Allison's POV 

Standing behind the door, I watched Dante leave. He walked quickly like he had an urgent appointment to keep. It was odd how Dante's mood had changed from being playful and teasing to being serious all of a sudden. 

I wondered what information he had received through the mind link to change his mood. I would even have expected him to look all gloomy and perturbed immediately after the meeting since weighty matters had been discussed there. He had been his usual flirty self and then his expression had hardened. I knew something was wrong. Something definitely was off. I had wanted to ask him what it was but on a second thought, I had kept my mouth shut. I did not need Dante's constant annoying reminder that I perhaps cared a little too much about him.
