Chapter 132

The light in front of Jo was much brighter now that she was nearly right on top of it than it had been when she’d first started running in this direction. Her heart was beating against her ribcage as she finally reached the location. It was at the end of a hall, so she had no other place to go; it was either find a way to get beyond the light or turn around and go back. But just like the light in the floor had appeared to be inaccessible, so too, did whatever was behind the black wall in front of her that was leaking the bright light into her eyes.

In order to get through the black tunnel floor into the light, Jo had simply needed to step in the right place on the floor, and the tunnel had fallen away, and she’d ended up here. Was it possible that she could just stick her hand through the wall at some point and lean her way through?

There was really
