Chapter 15

Before Sylvia tapped on the ‘send’ button, she stopped.

No, if it was just photos in the hospital, Jeanette would definitely deny it.

Sylvia should find someone to edit the background of the photo into a hotel. In that case, it would be concrete proof!

By that time, it would definitely be inexcusable for that woman...

After Jeanette was done dealing with her ankle injury, Elias wanted to take time off to send her home. It took Jeanette half an hour of anger and compromises before she finally managed to turn down Elias’s offer to send her home. In return, she would have to buy him three meals.

Soon, Jeanette got in the taxi and let out a long sigh.

What kind of rotten friend had she made?

He was always messing around with her...

It was nighttime. Jeanette leaned on the sofa as she waited for the housekeeper to prepare dinner.

At that moment, the doorbell suddenly rang, and Jeanette looked at the door curiously. She had never had a guest over at Villa Harmonia before. Besides, it was already nighttime...

“Coming!” The housekeeper replied as she ran to open the door. Her body immediately froze, and she was surprised. “Young master!”

Jeanette’s heart skipped a beat. She looked over in surprise to see that the tall and fine-looking silhouette at the door was indeed Damon.

Why did he... suddenly come back?

Damon entered the house silently and took off his jacket before handing it to the housekeeper. He then pulled his tie loose with one hand, walked to the side of the sofa, and sat down casually. He looked relaxed and laid back, like how the head of an ordinary family had just returned home after work.

Jeanette was shocked as she looked at him in a daze.

What on earth was happening? Was something wrong with Damon? Or had he come back to torture and humiliate her like last night?

Jeanette’s face gradually turned pale when she thought about the latter assumption. It must be that way. Her body tensed up, and she looked at Damon suspiciously.

Surprisingly, he simply sat on the sofa quietly. One of his hands rested on the armrest of the sofa as he looked at the TV, and he seemed to be watching very seriously.

The light and shadow on the TV screen flickered in his dark eyes.

Jeanette wondered if it was an illusion when he looked strangely gentle. She took a few glances before quickly retracting her gaze. It was just so strange. What exactly was he trying to do?

“Young master, Miss Jeanette, dinner’s ready,” the housekeeper said respectfully.

Jeanette snapped out of her daze and nodded. She put on her slippers and limped toward the dining table.

Behind her, she could hear Damon’s footsteps. Jeanette’s back felt numb, and just when she was about to turn her head cautiously, there was a tight grip on her waist, and her body was suddenly in the air.

Damon had just picked her up horizontally by her waist!

“Hey! What are you doing?” Jeanette felt uneasy and glared at him with her bright dark eyes.

Damon lowered his cold eyes. It was as if there were no emotions at all. “I’m taking you to dinner. What else did you think I’d do?”

Jeanette’s face was slightly red. She glared at him for a bit before quickly withdrawing her gaze. She thought he was bullying her again...

Who knew he could still be kind sometimes?

However, could it be that he had ulterior motives behind his kindness?

They finished eating their dinner in an exceptionally quiet and strange atmosphere.

Damon put down the bowl and spoon, and his gaze fell on Jeanette’s body.

Jeanette raised her eyes, looked at him, and said gruffly, “What?”

Damon said blankly, “Are you going to bed?”

Jeanette gave him a fierce look.

As expected, this man had ulterior motives!

Jeanette remained vigilant as she wondered if he was going to do something to her again...
