Chapter 35: The New Game Plan

Avery slowly covered her body with his blazer. He smirked as he watched her expression, "Does that mean that it's game over?"

She didn't expect him to say these things. She was honestly speechless and it felt like she was with a different person.

"Not yet." She then leaned closer to his ear, "I like what your father said about becoming part of your family."

When she moved away, he cupped her face. "I think you're a perfect candidate anyway."

Carson's eyes widen with what he just said. Avery was surprised too. She thought she was just playing around teasing him but the expression on his face was genuine. The tension between them became awkward.

Avery then moved away as she wore his blazer. He was frozen on the spot and didn't know what to respond.

"Avery"

She lightly smiled, "let's go home?"

When Avery arrived at her apartment, she saw Jane smiling at her. She knew that by now, her bestfriend must've heard the news. "I did my part of the deal."

Jane happily hugged her friend.
