Besides Cameron, he could hear the voice of the detective calling Ruby as he held her in his arms, and shook her. Even though his voice was so loud, it del like he was calling her from a distance, and his eyes were fixated on the woman that was in his arms.

His hands started to tremble, non-stop, and even though he tried, he was unable to stop the shivering. It took everything in him just to breathe, even though he was scared to death the woman he loved was unmoving in his arms. It was almost as if his lungs might have stopped working along with hers that looked the same, as he could hear a single breath from her.

His heart was hammering against his chest as well, and he didn't know what to do at that moment. At first, when Ruby fainted, he knew he should call an ambulance, but he didn't want to accept that she might not be able to wake up on her own.
