“I can't believe your boss allows you to have a visitor.” That was the first thing Olivia said when Davey brought her to the kitchen where Ruby was making lunch. She had been trying to get it all ready before she came, but Olivia was a few minutes early. Ruby offered her a smile and looked at Spring where she sat on one of the high chairs for the kids around the kitchen table. “Hey, Livy.” She said, just as Spring asked her who she was. “Livy? “So what will you do?” she asked as she dished out lunch for everyone including Olivia. “I mean, you can't just avoid him forever, you know. After lunch with his children Ruby, and her cousin, he retired back to his office to continue his work. This had been one of the reasons he had stayed back at home today so that he would see that friend and cousin. He had thought that the woman would be her friend, while the man would be her "cousin” but it didn't turn out to be that way. They have been talking on the balcony for a while, with Ruby telling her everything that had happened with her boss so far, from the first day of him saying he didn't want her, to not have a choice when his kids asked her to stay, and from the scenario in his office where she wore a tank top, forgetting she had no bra on. Ruby knew quite well that the man wasn't all warmed up with her, but it wasn't this bad. She wondered what she had done this time. The fact that she was this hated by him was what she didn't understand. The dinner went well, with Ruby and Flora talking for length after putting the kids to bed. Ruby got to meet their five-year-old son; Duke, who had insisted on sleeping over with Summer. She could tell the boy was fond of Summer and had a crush on Spring. Smiling now as she remembered the fuss he had made before his parents agreed with him staying the night. Ruby had also had to promise them that she would make sure he was well fed and not to worry about him. They would be picking him up later this evening. She was really glad she met Flora and Lee again and was able to thank them for saving her life and sending her here.
