Chapter 18

It was late in the night when Anna opened her eyes. She lay on a comfortable bed. Her head heavy, after staring at the ceiling in vain for some time. She regained her senses and surveyed the room. Surprisingly, she was in her hotel room. She put the glass of water on the side table to her lips and then sat up jerkily. She didn't remember how she got to her room. Pressing the pupils of the eyes and head with the hand, ‍‍she struggled to remember her journey to come. However, she couldn't recollect anything.

Her phone and some medicines were kept on the side table. She looked at the time and it was two in the morning to her surprise. It wasn't how she got to her bed, but what was surprising and dangerous was who brought her here. She remembered being with Adam when she passed out. It only meant that Adam already knew when and where Anna was preparing and where she was staying.
