Ophelia closed her eyes and kissed him back. She lost herself into him as if he sucked her soul with every breath. Her mind was screaming in denial, urging her to push him back and her body wouldn’t comply as though it had a mind of its own. Her body was hot yet she was shivering with ecstasy when his large hands trailed down her back. She felt his warm wet lips move down to her neck, leaving a trail of kisses on its path. That’s when she felt it. Noah’s teeth were bared on the nape of her neck. “NO!” she yelled at the top of her lungs, pushing him with everything she had got. Noah stumbled back, his elbows broke his fall. Ophelia crawled back away from him. Her face was flushed as she took rapid breaths. She wanted to leave but there was no strength in her legs anymore. She couldn’t make out any coherent thoughts. All she could do was trace her fingertips over the nape of her neck. Noah almost marked her as his mate. This was the first thought that she was able to put toge
“He won’t ever force her to accept,” Ophelia finished instead. The moment that Ophelia registered everything, she was able to come to the conclusion herself. It was simply Bernard’s character, he was not a cruel person to force them together. It was weird from the start. Bernard never forced Noah to do anything before. So why now?Ophelia couldn’t think of a reason and amid her thoughts, she wondered why was she so desperate to find it. Her mind wandered back to the events from a few days and she shuddered.“Well,” she said, after a minute of awkward silence. “Whether you get engaged or not is up to you and Claudia. It’s none of my business.”She waited for no reply and turned on her heels to walk away. Th
“This is one hell of a celebration,” Merrick stated, leaning towards Ophelia to murmur in her ear. “You did a great job.” “It’s my first time handling something so big,” she smiled. She was proud of all she did, it was a hectic week. It started with the locket, then Noah’s on-halt engagement, and at last, the kiss she shared with Noah. She pushed the memory to the far end of her mind, distracting herself by putting her full focus on Merrick beside her. “But you did it so well, Ella,” Merrick replied. Ophelia’s attention was back on him and she gave him a smile as he escorted her to the Alpha’s side. “Ella,” the Alpha greeted. “You are as beautiful as always.” “You flatter me, My Lord,” Ophelia said, grateful. “Good evening to you to Lady Valarie. Your dress is astounding.” “Oh my,” Valarie chuckled with a hand on her mouth. “Thank you for your kind words, Ella.” Noah stood next to his father with his hands behind his back. Ophelia noted his glare at something beyond her, she
The music wasn’t loud enough to cover her loud heartbeats. She could feel her hands beginning to sweat and thanked Sarah for the gloves she gave her at the last minute. She was aware of the crowd’s eyes on her, she hated the attention way more than she hated the situation she was in. Noah felt the faint trembling of her hands as she held back from holding too tightly. He stole a glance at her from the corner of his eyes and smirked. Her eyes fixed on the ground counting the steps they took till they were finally amid the dance floor. Other couples were ready waiting for them to start the dance. Noah spun her around, too fast for her to react. The next thing she noticed was her body pressed against his solid chest. Noah had a hand on her waist and the other held hers. Ophelia now had a free hand and she hesitated where to place it. The sight was amusing, Noah guided her hand to his shoulder and he could swear she gasped. He was having fun more than he should be. Especially aft
“Jone!” she yelled out.She jumped out from hiding upon realizing the mistake they had made. Jone Cloony was pinned to the floor with Ryan’s knee piercing through his shoulder blades. “What are you doing here!?” she sighed, kneeling to his level. “You can let him go now, Ryan.”Ryan hesitated and looked back and forth between Ophelia and the hooded figure beneath his knees. Ophelia raised an eyebrow at his stern face, and then he lifted his knees. Jone let out a loud breath as the air rushed into his lungs once again. He coughed as he came to his knees. “Are you alright?” Ophelia asked, tilting her head to take a better look at his face. His face lacked color he was as pale as a ghost. She noted the terror in his crystal-blue eyes and that made her worry. The usually calm and carefree mortal was staring at her with terror on his face. She held him by the shoulder and shook him gently. “Jone!” She called.“Ella!” Noah finally came through the crowd and joined her on the ground. “W
“You are dead tonight!” Ophelia gently placed Noah’s head on the floor. His complexion was at ease, contradicting the pain he was in. But that wasn’t a reason for her to settle down. Noah needed a doctor and he needed him now. The strength was pulsating through her veins, she could feel it coursing within her. “Ophelia!” Jone yelled out as he approached them. Instantly getting to his knees beside Noah, putting both his hands on the wound, and pressing down. Noah groaned in his sleep but soon settled down. Ryan joined them, his eyes widened once he saw Ophelia. It took him a minute to realize what was happening. “My Lady–” “Take care of Noah,” she said, intercepting him before he could finish. Her eyes scanned the floor and she spotted Noah’s sword, it was exactly what she was looking for. She picked it up. “What about you?” Ryan said, helping Jone who was ripping a part of Noah’s cap to wrap it around his wound. “We are outnumbered.” “Is that so,” Ophelia muttered, testing t
“Luke?” Ophelia stuttered, her mind was rejecting what her eyes saw. Her brother looked up at her when she called. It wasn’t longing or gratefulness that lingered in his eyes when he recognized his long-lost sister, it was hate and loathe. Almost as if the sight of her made him sick to his stomach. He was taller and broader now than he did 6 years ago. His features were sharper but he still held a strong resemblance to the Luke in Ophelia’s memories. There was no doubt about it, this was Luke. Her brother Luke. Ophelia sank deeper on her knees completely defenseless in front of the same man she shot in the leg. Ryan took a step forward to stop her but Garelt intercepted him and yanked him back. When Ryan turned to protest, Garelt just shook his head. “Give her some space,” Garelt muttered in his ears. “But that couldn’t be her real brother,” Ryan exclaimed in silent anger. “He is a threat to all of us!” “My brother is no threat to anyone!” Ophelia said in a fit of rage, tu
The one-night cry ended up being several ones. It proved to her that one night was not enough to let out all she had accumulated inside her, and the happenings didn’t stop happening. Day after day there were meetings with several people from all over Glaham. However, they were all too busy fixing and managing the wrecked estate first before handling other things. They tended to the wounded and held funerals for those they had lost. The estate was painted black in mourning for the precious wolves they had lost. Noah and Luke were still sleeping since that night. Ophelia couldn’t blame them because if she was in their place, she wouldn’t want to wake up either. But she prayed for them to wake up for at least a minute to know they were alright. Sarah reassures her every day that their vitals are all good, and their wounds are healing well. There was no specific reason for their lack of consciousness for 3 days. “My Lady,” Ophelia snapped out of her trance to stare at her bedroom d
