THE TRIP

We are steering through the outskirts of Nairobi's central business centre at 9:30 at night, to I don't know where. This Greek god is being cranky about killing me with anxiety because he is not telling me where we are going. I understand the phrase 'surprise', but still, it won't hurt to give me even just a clue, dah!

More than four hours of chronic driving is more than enough to drive me nuts. My butt is beginning to sting. It always gets irritated by sitting in a car for too long. My spine too. Damn!

I don't know how many miles we still have to cover, so I decide to stroke my trepidations by taking my eyes around for a fleeting excursion of the illuminated beautiful city. The glowing red and orange street lamps are glittering it just admirably. Its beauty is eye-catching as always.

Peering through it as we steer through, I don't discern any much transformation except for the almost now completed turnpike coming from the International Airport, all the way to the city's metropolitan
